Computer Science in the Developing World

Three members of the UW-CSE family have spent many months living and working in East Africa. Come hear about their experiences and the projects they are working on.

  • Yaw Anokwa: Scaling up a medical record system in Rwanda
  • Brian DeRenzi: Mobile applications for health care workers in Tanzania
  • Benson Limketkai: Life as an computer science instructor in Kigali

Despite the topics listed above, this will be an informal talk touching on everything from global inequity to the hazards of working in the bush. Please be punctual so there will be time at the end to ask your questions.
